Support Worker - Male, Samoan-Identified Position
Make a meaningful difference
Pathway Talent is looking for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker who is fluent in Samoan to provide consistent one-to-one support.
You'll work closely with the customer and their support network to promote choice, independence, safety and community participation.
About the opportunity
This is a permanent, part-time role of 72 hours per fortnight, including week nights, weekends and community access.
You'll build a genuine, trusting relationship with one customer and help them live life on their own terms.
What you'll do
Provide respectful, person-centred one-to-one support in line with the customer's plan and preferences.
Assist with dressing, personal care and everyday living tasks while encouraging independence.
Support secure mobility for a customer who can walk short distances with assistance and otherwise uses a manual wheelchair.
Facilitate community access and activities that reflect the customer's interests, including NRL games and local outings.
Use safe manual-handling practices; hoist-transfer experience is important when working across other services.
Maintain accurate daily notes, follow risk and support plans, and communicate professionally with family and the wider team.
What you'll bring
Samoan heritage, with strong cultural understanding and the ability to communicate in Samoan and English.
Experience supporting people with disability, including personal care, mobility assistance and community access.
Manual-handling capability; experience with hoists and transfers is highly regarded.
A calm,



respectful and dependable approach, with clear professional boundaries.
A Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or Aged Care (preferred); equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
A current NSW driver's licence, a reliable insured vehicle, and willingness to use it for customer-related travel.
Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 10 kg unassisted.
