About the Opportunity

Join Protective Fencing in Somersby as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Mechanical Fitter & Turner, where you'll earn while you learn, work alongside experienced trades people and complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting).
Employed by CCGT and hosted by Protective Fencing, you'll be supported every step of the way in a family-owned business that values teamwork, mentoring and helping people grow.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
No two days are the same.
You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, develop practical engineering skills & gradually take on more responsibility as you learn.
You'll learn how to:
Assist with maintaining and repairing manufacturing machinery & equipment
Work alongside experienced Mechanical Fitters & Engineers
Help manufacture high-quality fencing products from raw materials through to finished products
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely
Diagnose mechanical issues & assist with repairs
Read & follow engineering drawings and instructions
Contribute to a protected, organised and team-focused workshop

Is interested in engineering,



mechanics or manufacturing
Enjoys working with their hands and solving problems
Turns up on time and is ready to learn
Listens, asks questions and follows instructions
Takes pride in doing a job properly
Works well with others and has a positive attitude
Holds a current driver's licence and has reliable transport to Somersby

Practical Details
Located in Somersby NSW
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am-1:30pm
Uniform provided
