JRT Group has existing and upcoming civil projects across Rockhampton and Yeppoon and is seeking an experienced Float Driver to join our team. If you are a reliable and safety-focused operator who takes pride in transporting heavy machinery efficiently and securely, this is a great prospect to secure ongoing work with a reputable local contractor.

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for transporting plant and equipment to and from civil project sites, ensuring protected loading, unloading, and delivery while maintaining compliance with all transport regulations and company standards.

What You'll Be Doing:
Operating float trucks to transport civil machinery and equipment between sites
Safely loading and unloading plant, including excavators, rollers, and other machinery
Securing loads in accordance with industry and safety regulations




Planning travel routes and managing delivery schedules
Conducting daily pre-start checks and basic preventative maintenance
Maintaining cleanliness and serviceability of the vehicle
Complying with all Work Health & Safety (WHS) requirements
Completing all required documentation including logbooks, pre-starts, and delivery dockets

Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience operating float trucks transporting heavy machinery
Valid MC driver’s licence (minimum requirement)
Proven ability to safely load, restrain, and transport plant equipment
Solid understanding of transport compliance and fatigue management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
