Working in a modern workshop environment, you'll play a key role in the refurbishment, overhaul, and assembly of critical mechanical components, ensuring equipment is rebuilt to the highest quality and OEM standards.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Precision fitting,



assembly and installation of mechanical components and sub-assemblies
Dismantling, inspecting and refurbishing equipment and components
Diagnosing wear, defects and mechanical failures
Replacing bearings, seals, bushes, shafts, housings and couplings
Measuring, checking and verifying tolerances using precision instruments
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
Conducting alignment, calibration and functional testing activities
Completing quality inspections and workshop documentationContributing to a safe, productive and high-performing workshop environment
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and team success
What you'll bring
To be successful, you will have:
Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Engineering Tradesperson or equivalent)
Experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, overhaul and refurbishment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
A proactive approach to safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience in a component rebuild or workshop-based environment




Exposure to heavy equipment or industrial machinery
Forklift, Dogging or other High Risk Work Licences
Overhead crane experience
