About the Opportunity
O'Brien Electrical & Plumbing Lismore is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to join our growing electrical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated electrician who enjoys leading by example, mentoring others, and delivering high-quality projects.
Working alongside our Project Managers and leadership team, you'll play a key role in coordinating site activities, leading crews, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
We deliver a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects across the Northern Rivers and have a strong pipeline of ongoing work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors on site
Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and commissioning works
Plan and schedule daily site activities to meet project deadlines
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Monitor quality, productivity,



and compliance with electrical standards
Conduct toolbox talks and maintain site safety requirements
Coordinate materials, equipment, and labour requirements
Liaise with Project Managers, builders, clients, and other trades
Assist with identifying and resolving site issues to keep projects on track
Mentor and support apprentices and junior team members
About You
Qualified Electrician with a current NSW Electrical Licence
Previous experience as a Leading Hand or in a supervisory role
Robust knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical installations
Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate site activities
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service
Ability to read and interpret plans and project documentation
Current Driver's Licence
Desirable
Experience with simPRO or similar job management software
First Aid and CPR certification
EWP, Working at Heights, and other relevant industry tickets
