The Food Depot is a growing premium coffee and food business focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences through quality products, operational excellence and genuine service.
We're looking for an experienced, hands‐onGroup Operations Managerto help lead the next stage of our growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background incoffee, food retail or QSR operationswho enjoys improving systems, developing people and driving business performance.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key role in strengthening our existing stores while helping launch the next generation of The Food Depot locations.
About the Role
This is a hands‐on operational leadership role.
Approximately80% of your timewill be spent managing and supporting one primary store, while the remaining time will be dedicated to working across our other locations to improve performance, coach teams and implement operational systems.
You'll be responsible for ensuring every store consistently delivers exceptional customer service, quality coffee, operational excellence and strong financial performance.
This isn't a desk‐based management role— it's about leading from the front, coaching your teams and continuously improving the business.
Your Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
Leading day‐to‐day operations across multiple stores.
Coaching and developing Store Managers and team members.
Driving sales growth and improving overall store performance.
Monitoring labour, wages and productivity.
Managing food safety, compliance and operational standards.




Improving customer experience and speed of service.
Ensuring consistency in coffee, food quality and presentation.
Implementing and improving operational systems and procedures.
Managing stock control, ordering and minimising waste.
Reviewing KPIs and developing action plans for improvement.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding and team training.
Creating a positive, accountable and high‐performing culture.
Working closely with the Managing Director on business growth initiatives.
About You
You'll be an experienced operational leader who enjoys building solid teams and continuously improving business performance.
You'll ideally have:
Minimum 3 years' experience in Coffee, QSR or Food Retail management.
Multi‐site management experience (highly regarded).
Strong leadership and coaching skills.
Experience improving systems and operational efficiencies.
Excellent understanding of labour management and rostering.
Strong commercial and financial awareness.
Experience managing KPIs and improving store profitability.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A hands‐on leadership style with a passion for developing people.
A genuine commitment to exceptional customer service.
Experience within premium coffee brands, cafés, bakeries, convenience food or quick‐service restaurants will be highly regarded.
Salary & Career Progression
Starting Salary: $80,000 + Super + Performance Incentives
This role is initially responsible for supporting and overseeingthree stores,



and the starting salary reflects the current size of the business.
However, this is far more than a standard operations role.
Over the next ***** months, we have several exciting new store openings planned.
As the business expands, so will the scope of this role.
As additional locations are opened and successfully integrated into the group, you'll have the opportunity for:
