Westridge Medical is seeking an experienced and compassionatePractice Nurse (RN)to join our healthcare team inToowoomba, QLD.
This is afull-time positionthat plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our general practitioners in providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community.
As Practice Nurse, you will be instrumental in enhancing patient outcomes, managing clinical workflows, and ensuring our practice operates efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of care.
Key responsibilities
Providing direct patient care including wound management, dressing changes, and minor injury treatment
Administering vaccinations and immunisations according to national immunisation schedules
Performing routine clinical procedures such as blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose testing, and other diagnostic assessments
Assisting general practitioners during patient consultations and minor surgical procedures
Taking patient histories, vital signs and preparing patients for examination
Managing patient records and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with best practice standards
Educating patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions
Coordinating referrals and follow-up care with other healthcare services and specialists
Maintaining a clean, safe and infection-controlled clinical environment
Supporting the practice team in delivering efficient and organised patient services
What we are looking for
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
A recognised nursing qualification from an accredited tertiary institution
Demonstrated experience working in a general practice or primary healthcare setting
Strong clinical knowledge and competency in performing routine nursing procedures and assessments




Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues and healthcare providers
A compassionate and patient-centred approach to healthcare delivery
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Knowledge of infection control practices and workplace health and safety protocols
Current immunisation provider certification or willingness to obtain this qualification
Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software
Experience in chronic disease management, preventive health screening, and health promotion is highly valued
