Cranecorp Australia are seeking a capable and motivatedSenior Payroll Officerto join our finance team.
This role reports directly to theChief Financial Officerand works closely with theSeniorAccountant, providing end to end payroll delivery across the business.

About the role
This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery in a multi-site, operational environment.
You will play a key role in strengthening payroll processes, supporting stakeholders, and ensuring the business meets all statutory and award obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
Own and manage the end-to-end payroll function across the business
Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly pay cycles
Act as the key point of contact for payroll-related queries
Interpret Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts to ensure accurate pay outcomes.
Process superannuation contributions and ensure timely payments.
Ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements including STP, pay day super, PAYGW, payroll tax & My Leave
Perform regular payroll reconciliations, reporting and variance analysis
Maintain and continuously improve payroll systems, driving upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives
Contributing to month end processes including reconciliation of payroll related GL accounts
Work closely with Finance, HR, and Operations teams to ensure stakeholder alignment across the business
About You
5+ years' experience in a payroll/senior payrollor similar finance role
Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
Good technology skills and in particular Excelwith a willingness to learn financial system.
Experience with Greentree ERP is advantageous
A qualification in Payroll, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline is desirable
A proactive mindset - you look for answers, improvements and efficiencies
The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
