Are you a strategic engineering leader passionate about shaping and protecting Queensland's transport network? Join Transport and Main Roads as a Principal Engineer (Civil) and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the State-controlled road network from the impacts of development and third-party activities.
In this influential role, you will lead corridor management activities, provide expert technical advice on development impacts, access and road corridor encroachments, and guide the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure solutions. You'll work closely with local government, industry, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, sustainable and future-ready transport outcomes.
As a technical leader, you will mentor and develop a high-performing team, provide strategic engineering direction, prepare ministerial correspondence and briefing materials and contribute to complex policy, planning and construction initiatives that support Queensland communities.

Some of your responsibilities will include
Lead corridor management activities, ensuring outputs meet required technical standards and network objectives.
Provide expert guidance on third-party access, developments and activities affecting the state-controlled road network.
Deliver high-level engineering, planning and policy advice to support infrastructure projects and compliant transport outcomes.
Provide technical leadership, direction and mentoring to professional and technical staff across diverse activities.
Collaborate with local government, consultants and stakeholders to deliver effective corridor management and transport planning outcomes.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
Registration as a Registered Qualified Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
Must be eligible to work in Australia.
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check and serious disciplinary action declaration will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
