Task & responsibilities
nspecting and selecting ingredients, meats, vegetables, spices, and other food items to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with restaurant standards.
Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes including curries, tandoori specialties, biryanis, vegetarian meals, seafood, and bread items according to established recipes.
Monitoring and adjusting the temperatures of ovens, tandoors, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to achieve consistent cooking results.
Applying appropriate herbs, spices, seasonings, and marinades during food preparation and cooking to maintain authentic Indian flavours.
Portioning and presenting meals attractively,



including the addition of sauces, accompaniments, garnishes, and side dishes before service.
Ensuring cooked and raw food products are properly stored in temperature- controlled environments to maintain freshness and food safety standards.
Preparing meals that accommodate customer dietary requirements, allergies, and special requests while maintaining quality and taste.
Assisting with menu planning, recommending new dishes, and estimating ingredient quantities to support daily kitchen operations.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen by following food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and workplace health standards.
Providing guidance and on-the-job training to junior kitchen staff and assisting in coordinating kitchen activities during busy service periods.
Qualification & experience
Strong cooking and food preparation skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to maintain quality and consistency
Relevant qualification in culinary arts
