Rainbow Imports Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivatedAccounts Officer / Assistant Accountantto join our growing team in Wetherill Park.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a fast-growing wholesale and e-commerce business. Working closely with management and our external accountants, you will be involved in all aspects of finance, from daily accounting operations through to month-end reporting and compliance.
This position offers excellent exposure to all areas of accounting within a growing multi-state business and provides genuine opportunities for long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Finance Operations
Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment gateways
Process supplier payments and customer receipts
Process weekly and fortnightly payroll, superannuation and employee entitlements
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory-related financial records
Month-End & Reporting
Assist with month-end close procedures
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor business cash position
Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
Reconcile inventory movements and investigate discrepancies where required
Compliance & Financial Administration
Prepare BAS, IAS and other ATO compliance requirements
Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors
Assist with end-of-year financial reporting and audit preparation
Review monthly payroll, staff reimbursements and expense claims for our overseas office
Support continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
General
Work closely with warehouse, operations and management teams
Provide financial and administrative support to management as required
About You




Minimum3 years' experiencein an Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role
Experience working in an SME environment
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles, payroll and GST/BAS requirements
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
CPA/CA studies are advantageous but not essential
Mandarin speaking is preferred but not essential
