Wrays are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Officer with strong people skills to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources SEAPAC, this role will be based in Sydney and will work predominantly with Wrays, while also supporting HR initiatives across the broader SEAPAC region.

About the role
As HR Officer, you will provide high-quality coordination and administrative support across the employee lifecycle, working closely with leaders and the SEAPAC HR team to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely HR services. This role will support engagement, performance, capability, and culture initiatives, with coaching and development to build advisory capability over time.
Key responsibilities:
Provide first-level HR support to employees and leaders across Wrays, using strong people skills to build rapport, listen well, and respond with empathy and professionalism. Escalating complex matters as required.
Coordinate performance and development processes (goal setting, check-ins, review cycles), including documentation and HR system updates.
Support recruitment and onboarding, including job ads, interview coordination, reference checks,
offer documentation, and onboarding schedules.
Assist with remuneration review administration, benchmarking support, and HR reporting (data collation, trackers, and reporting).
Co-ordinate learning and development initiatives and support career pathways and capability uplift.
Support engagement initiatives (including EOS communications and action tracking) and culture-building activities.
Support HR projects across SEAPAC (e.g. policy harmonisation, process improvement, systems, and change initiatives).
Ensure HR documentation is maintained accurately (contracts, variations, position descriptions, and employee records).
About you
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Strong people skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate confidently with employees and leaders at all levels.
Experience in an HR support/co-ordination role is desirable (professional services experience is highly regarded).
Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR fundamentals, with a willingness to learn.
Able to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across teams and supporting regional stakeholders.
Systems confidence (HRIS experience desirable; exposure to BambooHR or similar tools is an advantage).
