TLC is passionate about connecting people with disabilities to workers that can help them achieve their goals.
Our Community Support Workers support our participants with social, community & recreational participation, in-home support & daily living activities, specialised transport & domestic support.
This is the role for you if you have:
An interest in supporting people with disabilities explore their capabilities and reach their potential.
The desire to share your interests and passions with others.
The ability to manage your own time and work autonomously.
A love for a constantly changing work environment.
NDIS experience highly regarded but not essential.
Qualifications in Disability and or Mental Health highly regarded.
You will be required to:
Perform all duties with professionalism & care.
Work under general guidance from the person seeking support/their family.
Work within clearly defined guidelines
Be responsible for managing your own time.
Be able to work with limited supervision.
Perform activities requiring the exercise of sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.
Support our clients with daily personalcare.
Support our clients with community access.
Essential Requirements and Preferred Experience
Demonstrated passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals, maximise independence, and reach their full potential.
Ability to provideperson-centred supportand work respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, tailoring care to each client's unique preferences and needs.
Experience supporting clients with mental health conditions, physical disabilities,complex care needs, or high-care support requirementsis highly regarded.
Comfortable providingpersonal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene support.
Ability to assist with daily living activities,including meal preparation and household supportas required.
Good communication skillsand the ability to follow established routines, care plans, and support instructions.
Patient, compassionate, reliable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality care and positive client outcomes.
Experience withbowel careis desirable; however, training will be provided to suitable candidates.
Experience withhoist transfersis highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Aged Care, or a related field are preferred.
Mandatory Requirements
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
Current Driver's Licence
Access to a reliable vehicle
Two skilled referees available for reference checks
Client Preference:For this particular role, the client has expressed a preference for female support workers to support comfort and compatibility.
However, applications from candidates of all genders are welcome and encouraged.
