DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Support Officer (AO3) to join our State Government client; in Cairns This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised administration professional who thrives in a rapid-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
About the Role
As a Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting operational teams by delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support. Working within a busy and performance-driven environment, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional and responsive customer service to customers and stakeholders.
Manage work orders, including creation, monitoring, updating and correcting records as required.
Monitor and coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries, ensuring timely responses.
Maintain accurate records and information systems, including Ellipse, Microsoft Office applications and BEMIR (Asbestos Register).
Prepare, compile and update reports, documents and administrative records with a high degree of accuracy.
Support senior staff by managing enquiries and administrative tasks in their absence.
Develop, maintain and improve procedures, manuals and registers.
Undertake a range of general administrative duties to support business operations.
Contribute positively to team culture while maintaining performance against established KPIs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in administration,



business support coupled with strong customer service.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Teams.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
Confidence communicating with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
