Assistant Border Force Officers (Casual/Irregular Intermittent) are employed with the Australian Border Force (ABF) at the APS2 classification and assist frontline operational teams to meet peaks associated with the movement of people and goods across the border.
The ABF is interested in receiving applications from individuals who have a broad and diverse range of backgrounds and skills. You should be an inclusive team member who is focused on contributing to a proactive and productive workplace culture.
Irregular/Intermittent Employees (IIEs) are predominantly required to work at international airports to alleviate pressure on existing teams during periods of increased flight departures and arrivals.
They are also utilised to work in teams dealing with Maritime, Air Cargo, as well as general administration areas. The work undertaken is mainly outside of standard business hours as the ABF operates within a 24/7 operational environment.
You will be given the necessary training to perform work related functions. Whilst Assistant Border Force Officers are employed on a casual non-ongoing basis, training is approximately four weeks in duration and undertaken on a full-time basis. Please note you must be adaptable and available to attend training for the full course.
