Do you want to use your skills to support women and children as they recover from domestic and family violence and build safer, independent futures?
As a DFV Practitioner, you will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to women and their accompanying children across both our refuge and outreach services.
Working alongside each woman, you will undertake assessment, safety planning, case management, advocacy, and therapeutic interventions to help achieve their goals and strengthen their long-term safetyand wellbeing.
You will manage a diverse caseload, coordinate with internal and external services, and work collaboratively as part of our Outreach Accommodation Support Intervention Services (OASIS) team.

This is afull-time, 9-month parental leave position based primarily on site.
Regular face-to-face engagement with women and children is central to the role, enabling you to build trusted relationships, respond to changing needs as they arise, and provide timely, practical support when itmatters most.
What you will do
Direct practice with women and their families:
provide case management support to women and children living in our refuge settings.
deliver individual and group sessions grounded in trauma informed and DFV informed practice.
complete risk assessments, safety planning and therapeutic case plans with each woman.
respond to family mental health, safety and wellbeing needs as they are identified.
build positive relationships with clients that shape their whole experience of our organisation.
meet mandatory reporting obligations when required.
Work alongside other services:
advocate for clients with the services they engage with, and build the capacity of those services to respond well to DFV.
identify, establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders including health services, DCJ and Police.
attend relevant stakeholder meetings where appropriate.
Keep the record accurate:
document case notes in CIMS and complete reports when required.




complete and maintain therapeutic case plans and safety plans.
complete incident reports when needed.
Be part of the team:
engage in learning and development and regular clinical supervision.
work with the Service Manager and the team to support organisational goals and a positive team culture.
take part in the on-call roster.
This role may include manual handling tasks to support women and children in their daily routines or as part of moving housing facilities.
Please ensure you're comfortable with physical activity as part ofthe job.
Who we are looking for
This is a 9-month fixed-term role for a practitioner with real depth in DFV practice and the judgement to work independently in a complex environment.
Specifically:
Demonstrated experience in direct clinical, therapeutic and/or case management work in the DFV sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of DFV service delivery and the gendered basis of domestic and family violence.
Demonstrated knowledge of how DFV affects women and their children.
Demonstrated experience in family work with families where there has been DFV.
Demonstrated experience in assessment and response-based practice in the DFV sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of the neurobiology of trauma and how it shapes outcomes for women who have had DFV experiences.
Demonstrated understanding of attachment theory and of parenting from a neurosequential and attachment framework.
Demonstrated experience supporting women to recover from DFV, including risk assessment and safety planning.
Qualifications and training
Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counselling or Psychotherapy (essential).
Postgraduate training in DFV and trauma informed service delivery (desirable).
Group work training (desirable).

Mandatory requirements




NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC):You must hold or be able to obtain a valid NSW Working with Children Check clearance prior to commencement.
National Police Check:A satisfactory National Police Check is required.
Human & Co will arrange this prior to commencement.
NSW Driver Licence:You must hold a current unrestricted NSW driver licence.
