ALS Environmental Risk Services (part of ALS Global) is looking for practical, hands-on tradespeople or construction professionalswho are ready to take the next step away from full-time toolsand into a specialist field role.
This is not an office job.
You'll be working on active sites, conducting inspections, sampling, and testing for asbestos, and eventually other hazardous materials.
Your industry experience will be highly valued, and full training and mentoringwill be provided to build your skills as a HAZMAT consultant.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day
Carry out on-site inspections and samplingfor asbestos (ACM), mould, meth residue, lead paint, and other hazardous materials
Perform air monitoring and clearance inspectionsfollowing asbestos removal works
Accurately complete Chain of Custody (CoC)documentation for laboratory analysis
Prepare and handle samples and work closely with our laboratory teams
Work alongside Senior Field Consultants, progressing daily inspection and testing schedules
Record site findings and assist with reporting using our Octfoliodigital platform
Support Environmental and OH teams as required
Produce clear, concise reportsfor clients (with mentoring and peer review)
Travel across Queensland and interstate, including occasional night shifts and weekends
What We're Looking For
We're seeking reliable, safety-focused people who understand construction environments and can work methodically in the field.
You'll ideally bring:
Trade, construction, asbestos removal, or building industry experience(highly regarded)
A desire to move off the toolsinto a technical inspection and consulting role
Advanced Microsoft Office 365 & general Windows PC skills
Extremely high level of attention to detail
Willingness to obtain Licensed Asbestos Assessoraccreditation (full training provided)
Open driver's licence & Construction White Card
QLD Blue Card(or willingness to obtain)
Confidence working on active construction and remediation sites
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Right to work in Australia
Important to Know
This is a physically active, field-based role
You'll be outdoors, on construction and industrial sites, carrying equipment and samples
If you're looking for a desk-based or office-only role, this position will notbe suitable
