Managerial position: mentoring Account Publicists and Account Coordinators.
TheSenior Account Directoris a vital leadership position responsible for steering high-profile client relationships, driving impactful earned media strategies, and scaling revenue across the fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and outdoor verticals.
Must have PR / Social Media agency experience in fashion and lifestyle.
This role bridges brand storytelling with PR and media results (across broadcast, print, and digital), influencer marketing, experiential events, and internal team execution.
Ultimately, the Senior Account Director ensures that campaigns consistently elevate brand equity and deliver measurableROI.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management & Brand Leadership
Serve as the primary, trusted strategic advisor for senior stakeholders in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and outdoor spaces.
Maintain an extensive network of strong relationships with top-tier editors, stylists, broadcast producers, and key industry influencers.
Lead high-stakes client meetings, strategy sessions, and seasonal business reviews.
Proactively identify opportunities to expand agency scopes through integrated PR, social, and experiential campaigns.
Strategic PR Planning & Campaign Leadership
Direct comprehensive, multi-channel PR and communications strategies tailored to product launches, seasonal collections, brand repositioning, and cultural moments.
Oversee the execution of high-impact product seeding, press days, media showrooms, fashion weeks, and immersive brand events.
Monitor cultural and consumer trends across lifestyle and outdoor industries to secure proactive, timely media placements.
Drive agency P&L; and manage annual retainers, project budgets, and revenue forecasting for all retainer and project clients.
Oversee the scoping, pricing,
and contract negotiations for new client pitches and contract renewals.
Ensure optimal resource allocation across assigned accounts.
Mentor, manage, and inspire account team members (Account Managers and Account Coordinators, Interns).
Foster a cooperative, high-energy culture that encourages creative thinking, trend-spotting, and rigorous media pitching.
Provide constructive feedback, performance reviews, and clear pathways for professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience:6-8+ years of public relations experience within an agency environment focusing on fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and/or outdoor brands.
Industry Networks:Demonstrated, robust relationships with key media across print, digital, and broadcast, as well as top-tier industry influencers and creators.
Strategic Acumen:Deep understanding of the modern media landscape, earned media measurement, and the intersection of PR, social media, and commerce.
Communication:Exceptional verbal, written, presentation skills with the ability to command a room during competitive new business pitches.
Problem-Solving:High emotional intelligence and crisis management skills to navigate high-pressure brand moments and high-profile client expectations.
Presentations :Strong ability in preparing strategic, creative and highly visual campaign presentations.
Preferred Attributes
Proven success in winning competitive agency pitches and driving organic growth within fashion/lifestyle/beauty portfolios.
Existing cross-functional expertise spanning PR (incl upfront media, digital and print), talent and influencer marketing, event management.
Experience utilising media monitoring and reporting tools (e.g. Streem, Telum).
