About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive
Broker Assistant
to join our growing financial services team.
The successful candidate will work closely with our brokers to support a broad range of lending transactions, including:
Owner-occupied and investment residential lending;
Commercial property lending and business finance; and
Private lending, non-bank lending and other complex finance transactions.
You will be involved in the end-to-end loan application process, including client document collection, preliminary credit assessment, loan structuring support, application submission, approval and condition follow-up, settlement coordination and post-settlement client service.
This position is suited to a mature lending professional with at least three years of relevant loan-processing or broker-support experience. Applicants must have strong residential lending experience, together with practical, hands-on experience in commercial and private lending.
You will need well-developed credit analysis capabilities, the ability to manage multiple loan applications and critical deadlines simultaneously, and the confidence to support both straightforward and complex lending transactions. You must also be able to work effectively with the broker's pace, priorities and service standards, responding promptly to requests and progressing applications efficiently. A strong customer-service mindset and a commitment to providing professional, patient and responsive support are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support the end-to-end application process for residential, commercial and private lending transactions.
Collect, review and organise clients' financial information and supporting documentation.
Conduct preliminary assessments of clients' income, expenses, assets, liabilities and borrowing capacity.
Assist brokers with lender and product research, lender comparisons and preliminary loan structuring.
Prepare loan applications, credit submission notes and supporting documentation.
Submit and manage applications through lender portals, aggregator platforms and CRM systems.
Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, lenders, valuers, solicitors, accountants and other relevant parties.
Monitor applications from submission through conditional approval, formal approval and settlement.
Follow up on outstanding information, lender conditions and additional documentation requirements to ensure applications progress efficiently.
Coordinate property valuations, pricing requests, loan-document execution and settlement arrangements.
Assist with commercial and private lending transactions by preparing finance summaries and reviewing security, borrowing structures, use of funds,



repayment sources, exit strategies and supporting financial information.
Ensure client records, compliance documents and application notes are accurate, complete and updated promptly.
Support compliance with responsible lending obligations, Best Interests Duty, privacy requirements, AML/CTF obligations and internal compliance policies.
Provide brokers and clients with timely and accurate updates throughout the application process.
Assist with annual loan reviews, refinancing, loan variations and post-settlement client service.
Handle confidential client and company information professionally, carefully and discreetly.
Work closely with brokers and adapt to their workflow, priorities and deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.
Deliver a consistently high level of client service through proactive communication, timely follow-up and a solutions-focused approach.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
At least three years of experience in loan processing, broker support, credit support, banking operations or a related finance role.
Strong, hands-on residential lending experience.
Practical experience in commercial lending and private lending.
A thorough understanding of the end-to-end loan process, from preliminary assessment and document preparation through submission, approval and settlement.
The ability to read and interpret payslips, bank statements, individual and company tax returns, BAS statements, rental income documents, financial statements and other supporting information.
Strong credit analysis capabilities and an understanding of serviceability, loan-to-value ratios, borrowing entities, security structures, use of funds, repayment sources and exit strategies.
The ability to identify key risks, missing information and potential credit issues within a loan application.
Excellent attention to detail, document completeness and data accuracy.
Strong organisational, prioritisation and time-management skills.
The ability to manage multiple loan applications, stakeholders and competing deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive, responsible and solutions-focused approach, with a strong commitment to achieving outcomes.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with brokers and other team members.
The ability to align with the broker's working pace, priorities and client-service expectations.




A strong customer-service mindset, with the ability to communicate professionally, patiently and responsively with clients.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook, together with proficiency in Adobe, CRM systems, aggregator platforms and lender portals.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
The following experience and qualifications will be highly regarded:
Demonstrated experience supporting residential, commercial and private lending applications.
Previous experience working for a mortgage brokerage, aggregator, bank, non-bank lender or private lender.
Familiarity with lender servicing calculators, broker CRM systems and aggregator platforms.
Experience working with self-employed borrowers, trusts, companies, SMSFs and complex income structures.
Experience in commercial property finance, business lending, construction finance, bridging finance, short-term finance or non-bank lending.
The ability to prepare finance summaries and submission materials for commercial and private lending transactions.
A qualification in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
A Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking.
Robust analytical thinking, commercial judgement and problem-solving skills.
Mandarin language skills will be highly regarded due to the communication needs of some of our clients and broker network.
Visa and Working Rights
Applicants must have valid working rights in Australia, including Australian citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate visa with suitable working rights.
