IA Accounting is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Officer to join our team. The successful candidate must have a robust accounting background, excellent attention to detail and proven experience managing accounts receivable, billing and customer payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Managing accounts receivable and monitoring outstanding accounts
Review and finalise time tracking, prepare and issue accurate invoices and account statements
Following up overdue invoices and collecting outstanding payments
Establishing and managing customer payment plans
Allocating and reconciling incoming payments
Completing bank and account reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records and client account information
Assisting with billing enquiries and resolving account discrepancies
Understanding and working with different business structures, including companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
Assisting the accounting team with general bookkeeping and financial administration
Preparing reports on outstanding debts, payments and account activity
Ensuring all financial information is handled accurately and confidentially
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance-related position is essential
Strong accounts receivable and debt collection experience
Solid understanding of accounting processes and financial record-keeping
Knowledge of Australian business structures
Experience with invoicing, billing, reconciliations and payment plans
Strong computer skills and experience using accounting software such as Xero
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident communicating with clients regarding outstanding accounts
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Professional, reliable and able to work independently
