The Work Mates program focuses on empowering participants to build confidence, develop practical employability skills, and achieve meaningful employment outcomes. It provides long-term and personalised employment coaching to youth and adults with an NDIS plan, and delivers tailored, hands-on support.
This a casual position based at our Cairns site, perfect for someone wanting flexibility and balance without compromising on purpose.
What You'll Do:
Support individuals to identify goals and overcome barriers
Coach participants in resumes, job searching, and interview skills
Deliver engaging, person-centred job readiness training
Develop confidence, social skills, and workplace readiness
Connect with employers and advocate for participant opportunities
Track progress and maintain accurate, confidential records

About You:
Genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability
Great interpersonal skills and natural ability to build rapport
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust your style to suit different learners
Naturally empathetic, patient, and able to connect with people from all walks of life
Proactive and solutions-focused, always looking for ways to remove barriers and create opportunities
What You Bring:
Certificate III (or higher) in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
Current Working with Children card (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening (yellow card)
NDIS Worker orientation module
