A leading financial services organisation in Brisbane CBD are seeking an experienced Senior Collections/Recoveries Officer to manage complex home loan and secured asset accounts through late‐stage recoveries, litigation, possession and sale.
As the Senior Recoveries/Collections Officer, you'll manage a portfolio of complex, delinquent home loan and secured asset accounts through the full recovery lifecycle.
Strong judgement, stakeholder management and mortgage recoveries experience are essential
Reporting to the Collections Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Late‐stage recoveries
— manage complex mortgage and secured asset accounts through arrears, litigation and recovery
Collections
- Manage arrear accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.
Litigation
— prepare matters for legal referral, track milestones, review solicitor updates and recommend next steps
Secured asset recoveries
— oversee repossession, valuation, auction, insurance and shortfall activity
Stakeholder management
— provide clear instructions, monitor service levels and escalate delays
Hardship & vulnerability
— identify hardship, refer appropriately and ensure fair customer treatment
Reporting & governance
— maintain registers, trackers, records and contribute to performance reporting
Compliance & risk
— ensure all activity aligns with legislation, policy and industry codes

About you:
Minimum 3 years of collections experience within
mortgages
(essential) or secured asset recoveries
Exposure to handling late‐stage collections
Relationship builder and ability to read between the lines and come up with a solution.
Strong knowledge of home loan recoveries, legal referral processes and secured asset recovery
Experience identifying and managing hardship and vulnerable customer situations
High attention to detail across legal instructions, account notes, reporting and registers
Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
