Role Overview
Mansions is seeking an experienced, confident and hands-on Approved Manager to support the safe, compliant and successful operation of the venue.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Approved Manager will support venue operations, compliance, staff leadership, promoter management and bar operations.
The Approved Manager will work closely with the General Manager, venue supervisors, security team, bar supervisors, bar staff and promoters to ensure the venue runs smoothly and in accordance with Mansions' established Plan of Management, policies, procedures and management direction.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced late-night environment, can confidently lead a team during service and effectively problem-solve when required.
Core Requirements
Current NSW RSA and eligibility to perform Approved Manager duties.
Required Licensee Training and any additional training applicable to the role.
Strong understanding of liquor licensing, RSA, harm minimisation, DA conditions and venue compliance.
Strong understanding of, and ability to effectively implement, the venue's Plan of Management.
Previous management experience within a licensed venue preferred.
Nightclub, high-volume bar and/or cocktail experience highly regarded.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Venue Operations
Ensure the venue operates in accordance with its liquor licence, DA conditions, Plan of Management, RSA requirements and applicable NSW liquor laws.
Maintain appropriate incident and compliance records and ensure significant incidents are correctly managed and escalated.
Liaise professionally with NSW Police, Liquor & Gaming NSW, Council and other relevant authorities when required.
Work closely with security to manage intoxication, patron behaviour, capacity and venue safety.
Oversee venue operations during service,



including opening and closing procedures.
Events & Promoters
Work directly with promoters to ensure event requirements and venue expectations are clearly communicated.
Prepare and effectively execute event run-sheets and pre-service briefings.
Coordinate communication between promoters, management, security and bar teams throughout the event.
Resolve operational issues during service while protecting the interests of Mansions.
Lead and manage staff throughout service, including staff positioning, breaks, workflow and performance.
Provide clear direction and support during busy trading periods.
Train, coach and develop staff while supporting the onboarding of new team members.
Help build a positive team culture based on professionalism, accountability, communication and teamwork.
Bar Operations
Support efficient bar operations and high service standards during trade.
Monitor stock, wastage and general beverage operations.
Be comfortable assisting behind the bar during peak periods when required.
Cocktail knowledge and experience within a high-volume bar environment is highly regarded.
Identify and respond to potential operational, compliance and safety risks.
Remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
Work collaboratively with management and security to resolve incidents and prevent escalation.
Adapt quickly to changing operational requirements throughout service.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is hands‐on, reliable and confident taking ownership during service.
You'll ideally have experience in a nightclub, bar or other high-volume licensed venue, with a positive understanding of compliance and venue operations.
You'll be comfortable leading staff, working with promoters and security, dealing with regulatory authorities when required, and jumping behind the bar during a busy service.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can help Mansions operate safely, smoothly and professionally while contributing to a strong team culture and great venue experience.
