Our Minerals business provides laboratory testing, inspection and technical services to the global mining industry.
We are seeking reliable and safety-focused XRF Operators to join our Minerals laboratory in Perth.
No previous laboratory experience is required.
This is an entry-level chance where you will receive practical, on-the-job training and learn how to prepare and process mineral samples using laboratory equipment and automated systems.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the XRF Production Supervisor, you will support the preparation, testing and processing of mineral samples.
You will be trained to follow laboratory procedures, operate equipment safely, record results and maintain a clean and organised work area.
This role would suit someone who is dependable, enjoys hands-on work and is interested in building a career in the laboratory or mining services industry.
Shift Roster
You must be available to work across a rotating three-shift roster:
Morning shift: 6:00 am–2:00 pm
Afternoon shift: 2:00 pm–10:00 pm
Night shift: 10:00 pm–6:00 am
Key Responsibilities
Prepare mineral samples for laboratory testing.
Weigh, rack, sieve and organise samples.
Load samples into laboratory equipment and automated systems.
Follow step-by-step work instructions and testing procedures.
Record results accurately in laboratory systems and worksheets.
Complete basic computer and data-entry tasks.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
Assist with routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Follow safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
Report hazards,



incidents and equipment issues to your supervisor.
Work with the team to meet daily production targets.
About You
You do not need previous laboratory experience.
We are looking for people who are willing to learn and can follow instructions carefully.
You will ideally have:
Year 10 or an equivalent level of education.
Basic English and mathematics skills.
Good attention to detail.
Basic computer skills.
The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
A reliable and safety-focused approach to work.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
The ability to complete repetitive and hands-on tasks accurately.
Availability to work morning, afternoon and night shifts.
Previous experience in a laboratory, warehouse, production, manufacturing or mining environment may be helpful but is not essential.
