East Coast Containers is searching for a full-time qualified welder to join our team at our Chevallum depot.
We specialize in modifying and converting shipping containers - from installing basic windows and doors to fully converting containers into tiny homes, offices, cafes and toilet blocks.
We would like someone willing to take on a first-year apprentice who has had two years of previous welding experience.
Tasks & responsibilities
Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of shipping containers
Performing welding tasks to industry standards
Operating various hand and power tools required for container production
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
Collaborating with the production team to ensure efficient and effective workflow
Adhering to all relevant safety regulations and quality control procedures
Training a 1st year apprentice boiler maker/welder.
What we're looking for
Relevant experience as a welder, ideally within the trades and services industry
Proficiency in MIG welding techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Good physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
