Help Shape Better Outcomes for Gambling Recovery
Join the Statewide Gambling Therapy Service (SGTS) as a Consumer Consultant and use your lived experience to support others on their recovery journey from gambling harm.
In this rewarding role, you will facilitate self-management groups, contribute to consumer feedback initiatives, and help shape services that better meet the needs of individuals and families across South Australia.
Your unique insights will play a vital role in influencing treatment programs, promoting community awareness, and strengthening consumer participation.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing hope, encouragement, and practical support while helping to improve outcomes for people affected by gambling harm.
About you:
Demonstrated ability to handle and manage confidential and sensitive information, recognising circumstances when such information must be disclosed as appropriate
Ability to share personal experience and maintain the focus on the consumer in the process of promoting self-management
Current or past experience of problem gambling
Completion of an evidence based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) treatment
Ability to relate to consumers who have a wide range of cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds
