Salary Range: LGO6 -$102,639 - $109,563 per annum + super,

About the Role
As the Technical Officer - Transport, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Townsville's transport network by providing expert technical and engineering advice on transport infrastructure across the city.
Working within the Engineering Advice Team, you will support the planning, assessment and improvement of roads, traffic networks, accessibility infrastructure and transport-related projects that benefit our growing community.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies and the wider community to identify transport infrastructure needs, develop concept solutions, prepare funding submissions and provide specialist advice that informs future capital works planning and service delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a customer-focused team dedicated to delivering sustainable, safe and innovative transport outcomes for Townsville.
About you:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled professional who can apply sound engineering principles to deliver practical and customer-focused transport infrastructure solutions.
You will bring:
Qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or significant relevant industry experience.
Experience in transport planning, road and traffic network design, and public infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Austroads Guides, Department of Transport and Main Roads manuals,



and disability access requirements.
Experience providing technical advice and recommendations on transport infrastructure and accessibility compliance matters.
The ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative, practical solutions.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a diverse range of groups.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SketchUp and the Microsoft Office Suite.
A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes that place the community and customer at the centre of decision-making.
A White Card and current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
