Australian After Hours Doctor is seeking aSenior Clinic Receptionistto join our team at our Mount Gravatt QLD location.
This is a full time position that plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of our clinic and the first point of contact for our patients.
As a Senior Clinic Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing the front desk, coordinating patient interactions, and ensuring our clinic operates efficiently.
This position is integral to maintaining our high standards of patient care and satisfaction, and provides an opportunity to develop your leadership and administrative skills within a healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities
Greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival, creating a positive first impression and ensuring a comfortable experience
Managing patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying patient information and updating medical records
Scheduling appointments and managing the clinic diary efficiently to optimise patient flow
Processing patient payments, invoices and handling cash and card transactions with accuracy
Coordinating communication between patients, doctors and administrative staff
Maintaining confidentiality of patient information in accordance with relevant healthcare regulations
Providing administrative support to clinical and management staff
Assisting with training and mentoring junior reception staff as required
Managing clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring the reception area is clean and well-organised
Handling enquiries professionally and resolving patient concerns in a timely manner
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a receptionist with 5 years of experience
Experience in Medical Director and Pracsoft software
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Proficiency with computer systems and practice management software
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively
Demonstrated reliability, integrity and commitment to confidentiality
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare settings
Willingness to take on a supervisory or mentoring role for junior staff
A caring, empathetic approach to patient interactions
