ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic, dedicated, self-motivated and reliable ward clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate would be versatile and available weekdays and weekends as required.

DUTIES
Greeting and working in collaboration with patients, families and professionals
Answering and transferring phone calls, taking messages
Liaising with nursing staff, allied health specialists and other hospital departments to assist and facilitate patient treatment and transfers.
Medical records preparation, filing and updating for clinical staff.
General administrative duties as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE




At least 12 months previous hospital administration experience.
Highly professional phone manner and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and initiate action
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Well-developed computer skills including accurate data entry skills with valuable attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a collaborative team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
Self-directed work approach

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Experienced in the use of the webPAS or similar patient management system
A sound knowledge of private health insurance

Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience.
