Harmony Vision Care Pty Ltd – Varsity Lakes QLD
Harmony Vision Optometry | Varsity Lakes, Gold Coast
$26.97–$30+/hour above HPSS Award, with a clear pathway from Level 1 to Level 3
No formal qualifications required — previous industry experience highly regarded
About us
We're a small, independent optometry practice that does things differently — solving complex vision problems through vision therapy, myopia control and specialty contact lenses, not just prescribing glasses. Our patients range from young children through to adults recovering from concussion and other neurological vision conditions, so no two days look the same. We're looking for someone who wants to build real, unhurried relationships with patients, inside a modern, evidence-based practice.
The role
Permanent part time under the HPSS Award, minimum 20 hours guaranteed, up to 38 hours available as you grow with us. You'll start at HPSS Support Services Level 1–3, depending on your experience, with a defined pathway to Level 3 and beyond as you grow with us. A key part of this role is taking day-to-day administration off our optical dispensing and assistant team, so they can spend more of their time with patients.
What you'll do
Manage phones, appointment bookings and front-desk flow
Handle invoicing,
payments and account reconciliation
Maintain patient records confidentially, including scanning and liaison with other providers
Provide administrative support to our optical dispensing team, taking routine tasks off their plate
Adjust and repair frames; assist with frame selection
Support optometrists and vision therapists with ancillary testing and digital imaging
What we're looking for
A genuine desire to give outstanding service, especially to families and children
Previous experience in optical retail, dispensing, or a similar patient-facing allied health role is a strong advantage, though not essential
Comfortable working independently and as part of a tight-knit team
Solid communication skills and empathy across all patient backgrounds
Calm and organised under pressure
Willing to become proficient in our administrative systems through training
Real, transparent progression from Level 1 to Level 3 as skills develop
Diverse, meaningful patient contact — not routine retail optical
For the right person, potential to grow further into optical dispensing over time
A small team that covers for each other and genuinely looks out for one another
