Peninsula Power FC is entering an exciting phase of growth and is seeking an experienced, qualified Technical Director to lead its football philosophy, coaching standards, and player development pathway.
Position Summary
The Technical Director is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of football operations across the Club, focusing on the club's Academy program. The role sets and oversees the Club's playing philosophy and curriculum, leads and develops the coaching group, and ensures a consistent,



high-quality player development pathway aligned with Football Australia's National Curriculum and Football Queensland requirements. The Technical Director works closely with the Board to shape football strategy and represents the Club within the NPL Queensland and broader football community.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously review the Club's playing philosophy, style of play, and technical curriculum across all age groups and teams.
Provide strategic and operational leadership of all football departments, with a transparent focus on the FQ Youth & SAP Academy departments, and pathway programs.
Recruit, lead, mentor, and performance-manage Academy Head Coaches and coaching staff, ensuring high coaching standards and consistent player development practices.
Oversee player pathway and talent identification processes, working with coaches to identify, develop, and progress players through Club and representative programs.
Ensure coaching content, training methodology, and periodisation are age-appropriate, evidence-based, and aligned with Football Australia's National Football Curriculum.
Manage relationships with Football Queensland, Football Australia, and other FQ Academy clubs on technical, pathway, and licensing matters.
Support coach education and professional development,



including facilitating internal training and mentoring toward higher coaching licences.
Monitor player and program performance data, providing regular reporting to the Board on football operations, coaching outcomes, and pathway progression.
Uphold and promote the Club's values, codes of conduct, and child safety and safeguarding standards across all programs.
Manage football department budgets, equipment, and resourcing in conjunction with Club administration.
Selection Criteria – Essential
Current Football Australia 'A' Licence (A Diploma) or recognised international equivalent – mandatory minimum requirement.
Demonstrated experience coaching and/or leading football programs at FQ or NPL Academy, State or equivalent Higher Representative level.
Proven leadership experience managing coaching staff and multi-team football programs.
Strong knowledge of player development pathways, talent identification, and the Football Australia National Curriculum.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
Ability to work evenings and weekends in line with training and match schedules.
Selection Criteria – Desirable
Football Australia 'Pro' Licence or actively working toward it.
Previous experience in a Technical Director, Director of Football, or senior football operations role.
Tertiary qualifications in sports science, sports management, or a related field.
Existing network within Queensland and Australian football.
