Full Time Receptionist (12 Month Fixed Contract) - Fitzroy Veterinary Hospital

Fitzroy Veterinary Hospital is a small animal veterinary practice that has been a feature of the local area for many years, we are very proud to offer a complete range of veterinary services - providing every patient and every family unique and individually tailored health care. We are currently seeking a warm, friendly, organised, and self‑motivated receptionist to join the team!

Your duties would include, but are not limited to:
Managing up to five incoming telephone lines as well as serving in‑clinic clients
Greeting clients and their pets and managing recent patient registrations
Diary management/scheduling appointments
Taking payments and balancing the till at the end of the day
Product sales and client education
Ensuring front of house is always clean and presentable
Consists of morning and afternoon shifts – Clinic is open 8am – 6pm weekdays




Saturday shift rotation, typically 1 in 4 Saturdays – Clinic is open 9am – 1pm on Saturday and not open Sunday

The ideal candidate should possess:
Reception experience – ideally in a similar workplace eg. vet clinic, doctors’ office, hospital, dentist, etc.
High Standard Customer Service skills – necessary and a priority, helping strengthen the human-animal bond
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate, ideally with experience in scheduling appointments and managing a customer database
Ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously when required
Great time management skills with the ability to multitask
Ability to keep calm under pressure
