Our client is a well-established structural steel contractor specialising in the fabrication, supply and installation of structural and architectural steel across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and government projects throughout Sydney.
Current projects are delivered across
Eastern Creek, Wetherill Park, Erskine Park, Kemps Creek, Moorebank, Liverpool, Prestons, Western Sydney, the Hills District, Greater Sydney and surrounding metropolitan areas
, working on everything from commercial office buildings, industrial warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing facilities to schools, hospitals, retail developments, mezzanine floors, architectural steel, structural upgrades, refurbishments and major infrastructure projects.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for an experienced
Structural Steel Leading Hand
to join their site team.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead by example, working alongside your crew while coordinating day-to-day site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Working closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Management team, you'll play a key role in delivering quality structural steel installations on time and on programme.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise structural steel installation crews
Coordinate daily site activities and allocate work
Read and interpret structural and shop drawings
Coordinate steel erection, crane lifts and installation sequences




Liaise with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, builders and subcontractors
Ensure projects remain on programme and meet quality expectations
Maintain a secure worksite and enforce WHS compliance
Coordinate materials, plant and equipment
Mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople
Identify and resolve site issues before they impact the project
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Proven experience as a Leading Hand within the structural steel industry
Strong structural steel erection and installation experience
The ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings
Experience coordinating crews on commercial construction sites
Excellent leadership and communication skills
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Current White Card
Current Driver Licence
Highly Regarded
Dogging Ticket
Rigging Ticket
EWP Licence
Working at Heights
Telehandler or Forklift Licence
