About the role
We're seeking an experienced
Cloud DevOps Engineer
to help build and maintain secure, reliable cloud delivery foundations for a large government department in Brisbane.
You will design and build CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure as Code, champion DevSecOps/GitOps practices, automate cloud environments, and uplift monitoring/observability and operational resilience.
This is a hands‐on engineering role working across delivery, architecture, security and technology stakeholders in an agile environment.
Required skills
StrongAWSexperience (e.g., VPC, serverless, ECS, IAM, etc.)
StrongIAMknowledge (design and implementation)
DevOps / SREcapability: CI/CD, observability, incident response, reliability practices
Terraform(IaC) expertise:



provisioning, state management, locking, and best practices
Scripting skills:PythonandBash(Java also valued; Node.js a bonus)
AdvancedGitskills: branching strategies, PR workflows, reviews
Solid engineering practices (e.g., modularisation, DRY principles, maintainable code/IaC patterns)
Security-focused delivery includingsecrets managementbest practices
Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, CIDR/subnets, firewalls, load balancing
