General administrative role in a small team workplace

The company:
The Sydney Academy of Chess, established in 1998, is the leading chess coaching company in NSW and ACT. We teach students how to play chess in primary and high school clubs, and we organise major tournaments throughout the year. With over 28 years' experience, we are passionate about providing quality chess coachingto our students from beginners to Australian representatives.
The role:
You will build customer relationships, performoffice administration and assist with operational responsibilities. You will be working as part of a small team, and perform a wide variety of tasks, including:
Answering customer inquiries in person, by telephone and email.
Assisting with enrolments and processing of payments
Liaisingwith staff, schools, and parents from multicultural backgrounds.
Updatinginformation in our database system.
Creatingenrolment forms using InDesign with training provided.
Processing and mailing equipment orders and purchases
Performing general office administration tasks including printing, photocopying, scanning and filing.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Excellent customer service skills including the ability to communicate with people from multicultural backgrounds.
Strong organisational and time management skills with superior attention to detail.
Flexibility and willingness to learn.
Intermediate level Microsoft Word and Excel skills with experience using a data management system.
Preferably at least 2 years experience working in a professional office setting in an administration or customer service role.
Please note that you will be asked to complete a Working with Children Check, which is a NSW legislative requirement for anyone in child-related work.
