Role Overview An exciting opportunity to join a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) as a Commercial Asset Specialist that has a diverse portfolio of multiple utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Working within the Asset Management team, the Commercial Asset Specialist will support the commercial and operational performance of renewable energy assets throughout their operational lifecycle. The role is responsible for contract administration, contractor management, compliance coordination, asset performance reporting, budgeting support, governance activities and operational readiness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Asset Performance & Commercial OptimisationSupport the development and implementation of asset management strategies and plans.Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to improve generation output, revenue and operational efficiency.Assist in the implementation of initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs and increasing asset availability.Support performance reporting and data analysis using operational monitoring systems and business intelligence tools.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop practical solutions.
Contract & Commercial ManagementManage operational contracts and contractor performance across utility-scale renewable energy assets.Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations, KPIs and service level agreements.Support the resolution of contractual disputes and prepare commercial correspondence in conjunction with legal and technical stakeholders.Maintain key project and operational agreements,
ensuring obligations are accurately tracked and managed.Assist with the preparation, monitoring and reporting of annual operating budgets and forecasts.Support procurement and contract administration activities where required.
Asset Administration & GovernanceMaintain asset registers, risk registers, compliance registers and critical operational records.Ensure asset management systems and databases remain accurate and up to date.Support the successful handover and integration of newly commissioned assets into operations.Develop and maintain operational procedures and change management documentation.Assist with governance reporting and internal audit requirements.
Development & Project SupportReview and support the preparation of Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) contract scopes for new renewable energy projects.Provide commercial input into project development and operational readiness activities.Support preparation of operational cost assumptions and inputs for project financial models.Collaborate with development and construction teams during project transition to operations.
Key Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Energy Management or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years' experience in renewable energy, power generation, asset management or utility infrastructure sectors.Demonstrated experience managing operational contracts and external service providers.Solid commercial acumen and ability to interpret contractual obligations.Understanding of utility-scale renewable energy operations, including wind, solar and/or battery energy storage systems.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
