Acumen Accounting and Advisory – Cairns QLD

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our boutique accounting firm. This is an excellent prospect for a capable professional who enjoys working closely with clients, providing practical advice, and being part of a supportive and dynamic team environment.

Our firm delivers tailored accounting, taxation and business advisory solutions to a diverse client base across a range of industries. We pride ourselves on providing end-to-end financial support and building strong, long‑term relationships with our clients.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in public practice and will be confident in preparing and reviewing:
Income Tax Returns
Business Activity Statements
Taxable Payments Annual Reports
Business advisory work for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.

You will work with a broad range of clients and be involved in providing accurate, timely, and practical accounting and taxation support.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
CA or CPA qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience in public practice




Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
Sound understanding of accounting software, including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Dext.
Robust attention to detail and a proactive approach to client services.
Experience with Xero Practice Manager will be advantageous but is not essential.
Knowledge of Self‑Managed Superannuation Funds, audit experience, and QBCC reporting will be highly regarded.
