Rare part-time leadership role on the Elwood foreshore Leadership without full-time hours This is a part-time, leadership-focused educator role within a long-standing, community-managed kindergarten — one of the very few services in Victoria positioned directly on the foreshore.
What you gain from this role Up to $42 per hour (well above award) True part-time structure with leadership responsibility Foreshore at the back, parklands at the front — nature shapes daily practice Over-ratio staffing (supportive, well-resourced environment) Generous non-contact time for planning and reflection Mentoring from highly experienced teachers High-quality learning resources Free on-site parking Closed over December–January Ongoing professional development and a genuinely supportive leadership team Your role in practice You will: Design and lead a high-quality Friday care program that reflects the service's play-based, nature-led philosophy to three and four year olds.
Plan and deliver engaging holiday programs, including excursions and incursions Support and mentor educators and trainees, contributing to overall team capability This is a structured part-time role consisting of: One day per week, leading the Friday extended hours program (8:30am–4:30pm) Approximately 0.5–1 day per week dedicated to planning, mentoring, and supporting educators Additional hours available during school holiday programs,



including additional planning time in the lead-up to the break The community-managed NFP kindergarten is known for its low staff turnover, robust team culture, and consistent approach to exceeding outcomes— making it a highly sought-after environment for educators who value long-term fit.
