About the program
The APDC plays a vital role in the community, offering alternatives to custody for public intoxication. As the Centre Manager, you will ensure that all programs are delivered to a high standard, professionally, ethically, and in accordance with NWQICSS values and the Diversionary Centre Service Agreement.
About the Role
As the APDC Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Arthur Petersen Diversionary Centre, ensuring high-quality service delivery and contractual compliance. You will lead a multidisciplinary team while building strong relationships with community stakeholders and government agencies.
The Centre delivers a range of important community programs, including:
Cell Visitor Program
Mount Isa Public Intoxication Program
Community Patrol Program
Rest and Recovery Program
Orange Sky Program
This is an exciting chance to lead a service that makes a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable people within our community.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the daily operations of the APDC.
Provide leadership, supervision and support to staff.
Ensure programs operate in accordance with funding agreements and organisational policies.
Monitor service delivery, performance outcomes and reporting requirements.




Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee budgeting, resource allocation and operational planning.
Promote a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and organisational policies.
About You
Qualifications in Business, Management, Community Services or a related field, or significant experience in a similar leadership role.
Demonstrated leadership experience within the community or human services sector.
Experience managing teams, staff performance and service delivery.
Strong understanding of government funding contracts and reporting requirements.
Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk individuals.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
The ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
A current Australian Open Driver's Licence.
A current Police Check.
A current Blue Card.
