Nurse Unit Manager - PACU/Admissions/Overnight Ward
Kawana Private Hospital is an accredited, multi-disciplinary day hospital with four operating theatres, delivering a diverse range of surgical services. Our modern facility includes a recovery ward for extended stays. We are known for our supportive culture, strong clinical standards and genuine commitment to work life balance. The hospital operates Monday to Friday only.
About the opportunity
We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager - PACU/Admissions/Overnight Ward to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis.
Key Selection Criteria to be demonstrated for this role are:
Organizational and decision-making skills
Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies and procedures.
Leadership and management ability
Positively implementing change
Motivated to provide self-development and education
Participates to a high level of clinical skill
Flexibility in working hours and duties
Ongoing commitment to OH&S; and risk management.
Commitment to the provision of quality and exceptional customer experience
Developing effective relations with key stakeholders; including CURA, VMO's and Reps.
Demonstrated ability to manage the budgeting process regarding human and material resources is desirable
Promoting and ensuring safe patient care, evidence of previous experience in Quality, and evidence based best practice policy writing
The successful applicant will demonstrate:




Post graduate qualification nursing and/or working towards a tertiary qualification in management
2-5 years in senior nursing or management positions desirable
Working knowledge of Industrial Relations Acts, regulations and other relevant statutory obligations
Knowledge of the regulation of health care professionals
Knowledge of ISO **** Accreditation
Understanding of contemporary clinical practice
Knowledge of the ANMC Competency standards for Registered Nurses
Knowledge of health funding models and arrangements pertaining to private/public health sectors
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
