restaurant at Bannisters by the Sea is a celebrated seafood destination, renowned for its fresh, locally sourced produce and simple, elegant dishes inspired by famous chef Rick Stein's signature style.
The Rooftop Bar & Grill
at Bannisters Pavilion offers a contemporary dining experience, featuring bold flavours, premium local ingredients, and a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The role and key duties
Deliver exceptional culinary experiences that exceed guest expectations.
Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional kitchen culture.
Assist with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Work closely with senior chefs to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient service delivery.
Take ownership of a designated kitchen section during service (Chef de Partie level)
Support the development and mentoring of junior kitchen team members (Chef de Partie level)
Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and minimising wastage.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and workplace health standards.
Essential criteria required to be considered
A recognised Chef trade qualification (essential)
A genuine passion for food, hospitality, and culinary excellence.
Robust understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
The ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced service environment.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
A reliable vehicle and licence for travel to and from the property.
Current residence within the region or a willingness to relocate to the South Coast of NSW.
