Registered Nurse – Floating RN (Education & Clinical Support)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (Floating RN) to join our team in a unique clinical and education-focused role.
This position combines direct clinical support with education and quality responsibilities.
The successful applicant will work across the home to provide clinical coverage where required while also dedicating two fixed days per week to supporting the Education & Quality Department, working alongside the Quality & Education Manager.
This is an excellent prospect for an experienced RN who enjoys mentoring others, promoting best practice, and contributing to continuous quality improvement within aged care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Provide clinical leadership and direct resident care across the home as required.
Support clinical teams by filling staffing gaps while maintaining high standards of safe, person-centred care.
Promote best practice in accordance with organisational policies and current legislation.
Education & Quality
Working under the guidance of the Quality & Education Manager, responsibilities include:
Deliver and facilitate mandatory and targeted education sessions for staff.
Provide bedside coaching, mentoring and competency support to clinical and care staff.
Deliver education in response to identified risks and emerging service needs.
Assist with onboarding, orientation and competency assessments of new staff.
Support the evaluation of education through competency assessments, audits and monitoring of practice.
Maintain accurate education records and documentation.
Communicate effectively with managers regarding staff progress, competency outcomes and education requirements.




Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Minimum 5 years' experience working in residential aged care.
Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Act ****, Aged Care Rules ****, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, SIRS and Clinical Governance principles.
Demonstrated experience in educating, coaching and supporting staff in the workplace.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain.
Experience in quality improvement, clinical audits or education coordination.
Additional qualifications or professional development in aged care, leadership, dementia care, wound care, infection prevention and control, or clinical education.
