The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in elevating our financial operations.
You'll provide hands-on support to the financial controller, all aspects of general bookkeeping and payroll.
Xero and Employment Hero are our tools of choice, and we are looking a general allrounder to join our finance team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Accounts Payable - posting of invoices, payables aging reports and payment proposals
Accounts Receivable – responsible for the timely and accurate issuance of invoices, ensuring they are promptly sent to clients, and maintaining regular oversight of the AR ageing to drive consistent and timely payments.
Processing payroll for multiple entities in Australia and overseas
Managing employee expenses
Daily bank reconciliations
Generating reports and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making including month-end and year-end close processes
Managing multicurrency bank accounts
Generating reports and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making
Liaising with external accountants and auditors as required
About You
You enjoy working in a small size hands-on team.

Working in a hybrid WFM office, you'll need to be based in Sydney, where we have a strong culture of team work, socializing, supporting, and knowing each other.
Skills and experience
Must be proficient in Xero and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Fluent English in reading and writing
Minimum 4-5 years' experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Positive work ethic and ability to work with a high level of autonomy
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
