Supporting projects across the Greater Brisbane region with our head office located in Murarrie, this opportunity sits within our Insurance Building division and reports directly to the General Manager and Operations Manager, joining a collaborative team environment.
As an Estimator, you will play an important role in delivering residential insurance repair and restoration projects, working closely with insurers, clients, supervisors, and subcontractors from initial assessment through to project delivery.
You will prepare scopes of work and detailed cost estimates while helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced carpenter or qualified tradesperson who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Offering a varied mix of office-based and onsite work, it's a dynamic role where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Attend sites to assess damage and deliver accurate, timely estimates aligned to scope, policy coverage, and client expectations
Interpret consultant reports, photos, and documentation to develop clear, comprehensive scopes of work
Proactively liaise with insurers, clients, and subcontractors to clarify requirements, resolve queries, and progress quotes within required timeframes
Coordinate access to properties and ensure a smooth and efficient project setup
Work closely with Supervisors to ensure budgets, timelines, and outcomes are achieved
Identify and communicate variations early to ensure works remain aligned with scope, standards, and contractual requirements
Ensure all estimates and documentation are completed with a high level of accuracy, professionalism,
and attention to detail
Consistently meet agreed turnaround times, service levels, and quality standards to support team and business performance

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a proactive attitude and the drive to get things done.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Sound understanding of construction methods, labour, and material costs, with the ability to interpret plans, assess damage, and accurately scope and cost building works
The ability to engage effectively with clients, insurers, and key stakeholders
A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-relevant estimating systems.
Previous experience within insurance building, construction, or property repairs
Experience preparing scopes of work and applying practical cost control principles
The ability to manage multiple claims or projects simultaneously through to completion
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve commercially sound outcomes
The ability to work autonomously while maintaining accountability and performance
Proven capability to deliver outcomes within required timeframes in a fast-paced workplace
