Queensland

prmpt. is a specialist R&D; Tax Incentive and government incentives advisory firm based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We partner with ambitious, innovative businesses across manufacturing, agritech, software, biotech, medtech, large-scale technologies and beyond. We help clients access the R&D; Tax Incentive, EMDG and other government programs through a proven, year-round consultation methodology that erases the traditional stigma of R&D; being a complicated, end-of-financial-year scramble.
We're a business of people and culture first. We invest heavily in our team's professional and personal development, and we look long-term. We want the people who join us to have a real, mapped-out future here. We're in an active growth phase with ambitious revenue targets, which means a genuine opportunity for the right person to grow with us, not just fill a seat. For more on what we do, see prmpt.com.au.
About the Role
prmpt. is seeking an experienced Senior R&D; Consultant to join our team on the Gold Coast. This is a full time position for an experienced RDTI specialist ready to own a client portfolio end-to-end, lead complex eligibility work and step into genuine leadership of a scaling practice.

As you transition into the R&D; Tax Manager role, you'll progressively take ownership of the day-to-day operational leadership of the practice, enabling the Managing Director to focus on strategic growth. This position is central to our growth strategy and to our succession plan.
This role comes with a clearly structured 12-month pathway to R&D; Tax Manager. Over that period, you'll be building toward a formal transition, taking on:

Sign-off and quality control on RDTI applications
A growing hand in firm operations (i.e. workflow design, client service standards and practice systems)

Greater autonomy on client relationships, including complex eligibility, associate provisions and audit-risk calls
A remuneration step-up on transition, reflecting the expanded scope
This is a genuine succession pathway, building toward you taking meaningful ownership of how this business runs.
Key Responsibilities
Owning a portfolio of clients end-to-end. From onboarding through to lodged R&D; Tax Incentive applications
Leading complex eligibility assessments, including application structures and key provisions under Division 355 of the Income Tax Assessment Act **** (ITAA ****)
Development of R&D; strategies, forecasts and budgets for clients
Maintaining direct client and stakeholder relationships, including technical leads, CFOs and founders

Preparation of other government grants, including Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) and Industry Growth Program (IGP) applications
Writing complete R&D; Tax Incentive applications and reviewing team members' applications through to final lodgement
Mentoring team members and building their technical capability and financial knowledge
Contributing to internal workflow, systems and process improvements as we scale the practice
Representing prmpt. at industry and innovation community events, and contributing to the firm's market presence and growth as you step into the Manager role
Qualifications & Experience
A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 5+ years of experience in R&D; Tax Incentive advisory (or demonstrated equivalent depth)

Strong working knowledge of Division 355 (ITAA ****) and the RDTI Guide to Interpretation
Demonstrated experience handling complex or contentious eligibility positions
Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior team members is expected; formal people management experience is not essential, but the confidence to step into it is
