Clinical Lead – Multidisciplinary Team | Newcastle & Hunter
Lead an established multidisciplinary team across mental health and allied health setting

Our client is a well-regarded provider delivering community-based health and wellbeing services across Newcastle and the Hunter. They're looking for an experienced clinician to step into a clinical leadership role, providing oversight, supervision and practice guidance to a busy multidisciplinary team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the leadership side of clinical work, supporting other clinicians, lifting practice quality and keeping a service running well — while staying connected to client outcomes and stakeholders.
About the role
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight across the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
Provide clinical leadership, consultation and support to clinicians across nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and allied health
Lead clinical review meetings, case discussions and clinical governance activities
Manage referrals, service demand, waitlists and client flow to ensure timely access to care
Provide formal and informal supervision, mentoring and professional development to clinical staff
Support the use of evidence-based assessment, trauma informed practice and intervention approaches across disciplines
Monitor clinical quality, risk management and compliance with relevant governance frameworks
Build and maintain strong relationships with community providers, partner organisations and external stakeholders
Contribute to service development, integrated care pathways and continuous quality improvement
Support strategic planning and reporting requirements
Maintain a clinical caseload during periods of increased service demand where required
Who we're looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or a related clinical discipline
Current AHPRA registration
Demonstrated leadership experience within community health, mental health or multidisciplinary allied health settings
Solid clinical assessment, intervention and risk management skills
Experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring across disciplines
Sound understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and service delivery frameworks
Confidence managing competing priorities, service demand and workforce coordination
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Understanding of culturally safe practice and social and emotional wellbeing principles, particularly for First Nations communities
Current driver's licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Check and First Aid/CPR
