Sunshine Coast Yamaha Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Marine Technician to join our growing team in Warana, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing our customers' marine vessels and equipment. As a Marine Technician, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring that every boat that leaves our facility is in perfect working order. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly impact customer satisfaction and the reputation of Sunshine Coast Yamaha.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and servicing on marine engines.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in marine engines and associated systems
Conduct thorough inspections of vessels to identify potential issues and safety concerns
Reassemble, test and commission marine equipment following repair or maintenance work
Keep accurate service records and documentation for all work completed on customer vessels
Liaise with customers to explain work carried out and provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety standards
Identify and order necessary replacement parts and components for repairs
Contribute to the achievement of workshop targets and service level agreements
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in marine mechanics, boat mechanics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience as a Marine Technician or in a similar role servicing outboard engines, inboard engines, or watercraft
Sound knowledge of marine engine systems, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools,



and power tools commonly used in marine servicing
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work methodically through complex technical issues
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to ensure positive client relationships
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop setting
A valid driver's licence and ability to travel to customer sites if required
Current First Aid certification is desirable
Knowledge of Yamaha marine products and systems is advantageous but not essential
