We're looking for an exceptional Medical Receptionist to join our friendly Dermatology & Ophthalmology specialist practice. If you're someone who loves working with people, thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience in dermatology or ophthalmology would be highly regarded, particularly if you've been involved in coordinating surgical procedures, liaising with hospitals, preparing theatre bookings and supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. Experience using Xestro would also be an advantage, although none of these are essential. Above all, we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, who enjoys learning, takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about providing a great experience for every patient. We'll happily provide training for the right person.
About the Role
As one of the first people our patients meet, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience while helping keep the practice running smoothly. Every day is a little different, so we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is happy to jump in wherever needed.
Your day will include:
Greeting and checking in patients.
Answering phones and managing appointments.




Booking procedures and hospital surgery lists.
Managing specialist referrals and correspondence.
Processing billing, Medicare and EFTPOS payments.
Liaising with hospitals, GPs and other healthcare providers.
Maintaining accurate patient records.
Supporting the doctors and wider clinical team with day-to-day administrative tasks.

Works well both independently and as part of a supportive team.
Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities in a busy specialist practice.
Is flexible, adaptable and enjoys the variety that comes with working in a specialist environment.
Uses initiative, enjoys problem solving and is always happy to help where needed.
Takes ownership of their work and strives for accuracy, efficiency and high standards in everything they do.
Experience:
The following would be highly regarded, although not essential:
Previous experience in a Dermatology or Ophthalmology specialist medical practice.
Experience using Xestro Practice Management Software.
Surgical booking and hospital coordination experience.
Medicare billing knowledge.
