Sydney Grammar School is an independent non-denominational day School for boys.
The secondary School (7-12) is located on College Street in the city of Sydney and the two preparatory Schools are located at Edgecliff (K-Year 6) and St Ives (Preschool-Year 6).
About the Role
Sydney Grammar School's Edgecliff preparatory School is seeking to employ a highly motivated and qualified Director of Drama within the School's Drama department.
This is a fixed-term full-time position for Term I ****.
The Acting Director of Drama will be responsible for a variety of academic and administrative duties:
Supports and promotes the goals of the School, in co-operative partnership with parents, carers, and the community, in working towards the achievement of the aims of the School.
Provide inspiring, positive leadership that will continue to foster standards of excellence in the practical and classroom-based areas of Drama.
Take responsibility for the development and implementation of the Drama curriculum in compliance with NESA requirements.
Encourage, collaborate and lead Drama within the school, helping to shape the culture of the Drama Department into the future.
Manage departmental resources, storage, teaching spaces and rehearsal spaces.
Manage the Drama Department budget.
Carry out specialist Drama teaching responsibilities in either/both Infants and/or Primary Departments of Edgecliff Preparatory School.
Drama Programmes are to be prepared, continuously improved, and reviewed, updated as needed and handed into the Director of Studies each term.
Evaluations of all classes taught must be submitted at the end of each term.
Contribute to establishing the core values of the School and their practical expression.




Assist the Headmaster in the appointment of teaching staff.
It is important during lessons that the boys are enthused, motivated and encouraged to develop a love of Drama.
