Utech is an established Sydney electrical contractor delivering major projects across the commercial, health, education, industrial, residential and aged-care sectors.
We are seeking an Electrical Project Coordinator to support our Project Managers and site teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The prospect
This role would suit someone with practical electrical experience who wants to develop a career in project coordination and management.
An Australian electrician looking to move from the tools into an office and project-based role
An overseas-qualified electrician with commercial construction experience
An electrical supervisor, engineer or technician seeking Australian project experience
An existing Project Coordinator wanting to join an established electrical contractor
An Australian electrical licence is not essential for this position.
However, you must have a solid understanding of electrical installations, construction processes and electrical contracting.
The position will be primarily based at our Milperra office, with some potential attendance at project sites across Sydney.
Key responsibilities
Assist Project Managers with the daily coordination of electrical projects
Liaise with builders, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
Review electrical drawings, specifications and project documentation
Prepare and maintain RFIs, variation registers, procurement schedules and project correspondence
Coordinate material orders, technical submissions, samples and shop drawings
Track project actions, programme requirements and outstanding information
Assist with cost tracking, progress claims and variation documentation




Attend project and coordination meetings and follow up assigned actions
Support quality documentation, including ITPs, testing records and inspection requirements
Assist with commissioning, defects, handover documentation and operation and maintenance manuals
Maintain accurate project records through Procore, Aconex and other construction systems
About you
To be successful, you will have:
Practical experience or qualifications in the electrical industry, gained in Australia or overseas
A solid understanding of commercial construction and electrical contracting
The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
Good organisation, time management and attention to detail
The confidence to communicate with builders, consultants, suppliers and site personnel
A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
The ability to manage multiple priorities and follow matters through to completion
Experience with Procore, Aconex, HammerTech, Bluebeam or similar construction platforms will be advantageous, but training can be provided.
